Cleansing Sensitive Skin

22nd February 2017

Cleansing sensitive skin can be difficult because skin can be so reactive but it’s important for this particular kind of skin to feel clean and free from product residue to avoid further irritation. The best way to feel this level of ‘squeaky clean’ is usually a foaming facial wash, but here again, washing the skin with water can lead to it feeling compromised - not what we want.

This is where Gentle Foaming Facial Wash comes in. A cream to foam cleanser, this everyday face wash has been developed to be used on all skin types but is gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin. Combining the merits of a cream cleanser with a face wash, it leaves the skin feeling beautifully refreshed and deeply cleansed but without stripping the skin so that it doesn’t feel tight or irritated.

So how does it do this? With a formulation that blends skin-kind ingredients including a natural surfactant derived from Apple amino acids. This cleansing agent creates a light, creamy foam to gently lift dirt, grime and make-up whilst respecting the skin’s natural oils. It leaves skin soft and smooth because it preserves the integrity of the skin barrier – a major factor in keeping irritation at bay. Pracaxi oil is rich in Behenic Acid, a source of vital lipids to help replenish and re-balance this delicate skin barrier. The exotic oil extracted from the seeds of this Amazonian tree, has traditionally been used by the indigenous people to soften skin and reduce scarring. And Fig extract - known for its anti-oxidant and phytosterol content, it keeps skin calm, soothed, and wonderfully nourished. With a subtle aromatic composed of lemon, sweet and bitter orange, ylang ylang and petitgrain, the cleansing process becomes an absolute pleasure.

Gentle Foaming Facial Wash is the perfect solution if you’re short on time or on the go because it removes both dirt and make-up, it can be used in the shower, and is great for your gym bag. If you want a second cleanse to ensure every scrap of make-up and grime is removed, simply wipe a cotton wool pad soaked in Smart Cleanse Micellar Water over the complexion for a final sweep or tone with Soothing Apricot Toner. Don’t forget to moisturize immediately to lock in hydration with Hydra-Boost Sensitive Day Cream.
