As you likely know, there are extensive beauty benefits to a good night sleep. Skin looks rested and glowing, eyes brighter and it’s even been proven that sufficient restfulness reduces immune-related skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. The hard part is achieving enough of it.

Here at ELEMIS, we understand that beauty is as much about what you put on your skin, as it is about combining it with a healthy lifestyle. With that in mind, here are a few secrets to the perfect night sleep ever.

Silk Pillows

It’s totally ok to carry out Princess-like demands when it comes to your skin. It deserves to be showered with the best and when it comes to bed linen, that means silk pillowcases. Timing

A clear room (and consequently clear mind) will help no end to improve the quality of sleep.

What’s on the inside counts

We all know we shouldn’t drink caffeine before bed, but did you know that you shouldn’t be drinking it for as long as six hours before sleep? The powerful stimulant remains in your blood stream for hours so it’s important to ween yourself off it after lunch. The same goes for alcohol. A nightcap might make you fall asleep faster, but the quality is compromised. Your body is not only restless, but too busy fighting off the toxins to have enough energy to restore. Try chamomile tea or peppermint tea instead.
