Hot Weather ELEMIS Remedies

26th July 2017

Is it even possible to have too much sun when we live on a small island frequently battered by the Atlantic’s weather systems and subject to its climatic whims?

Yes, of course, we know the answer is “yes” and we are well prepared with our SPF whenever the sun does choose to show its face.
But what ELEMIS products can we use to keep our cool when the heat is on? Here is a list of our favourite formulations to have on hand when the mercury rises and you don’t want to overheat...

Instant Refreshing Gel

We already know that this is a saviour for tired legs and ankles as well as tense muscles in the neck, shoulders and arms. This revitalising formulation is also brilliant though, for cooling your skin. Simply apply a thin layer to hot and bothered limbs and feel the instant effect of the menthol blend.

Hydra-Gel Eye Masks

If ever there was a desert island ELEMIS product, this is it. These potent marine-charged eye masks are loved by models and make-up artists for de-puffing eyes before shows, because the cooling stick on patches leave the eye area feeling refreshed and renewed. Seaweed extracts provide a tightening, smoothing effect while hyaluronic acid hydrates - it’s a win-win situation. Keep in the fridge for added chill.

Tea Tree Spray

This natural anti-bacterial spray is great for spritzing on tired, hot feet. If you can give your feet a cooling foot bath beforehand, even better. But for on-the-trot treatment, simply spray directly onto the soles of the feet and enjoy the tinglingly cold sensation. Great for targeted spraying between the shoulders too to avoid the dreaded ‘bacne’.

Soothing Apricot Toner

All ELEMIS toners can be kept in the fridge for a refreshing spritz whenever your face needs it, but we particularly like the soothing ingredients of this one. It can also be applied cold from the fridge onto cotton wool pads which you can then place over the eyes while you lie down in a darkened, cool room. Sheer bliss...
