What is WHISTLES X FRAME?

Meet Pip Black and Joan Murphy – the women who’ve been putting the fun back info fitness ever since they launched their first FRAME studio in Shoreditch back in 2009. With an additional studio having since popped up in Queen’s Park, their signature fusion of dance, fitness, yoga and Pilates has made even the most reluctant of exercisers reach for their sweatpants.

Which is why the dynamic duo have now teamed up with high street hero, Whistles to launch a 13-piece capsule collection of active wear – including the Flow Harem Pants, Pip Black Crop Top and super chic Joan Jumpsuit – to take you stylishly from studio to street.

Why Whistles for your first foray into clothing?

‘We've been looking to bring out a clothing range for a few years, as being a fashion-led fitness brand it's a logical next step. To break into the apparel world, we wanted to work with another brand that we admired and is known for its style, quality and great fit. The Frame woman is busy and always rushing between meetings, class, catching up with friends over coffee and checking out the latest restaurants and exhibitions. She wants to wear something that will work for any of these occasions in order to save time’.

What were your aims for this capsule range?

‘Fit and the quality of the materials were the primary requirements. Making sure that the leggings stay up when you’re jumping around and don't go see-through when you bend over was crucial. As was ensuring that the materials are breathable and don't show sweat.

‘Aside from these technical aspects, we wanted to create pieces that you can throw a hoody and a leather jacket over and walk out the studio into a cafe without looking like you’ve just been working out’.

What are you favourite pieces?

Joan: ‘Mine is the jumpsuit. If I could wear a jumpsuit every day I would!’

Pip: ‘I love the one-shouldered leotard and the harem-style pants. Leotards are great because they don't fall down over your face when you go upside down. They also hold in your tummy, which is perfect for me as I have a 6-month old bubba’.

How would you describe this collection?

‘A tight mix of pieces we can mix and match with our everyday clothes, making us feel stylish along the way’. Finally, what are your top tips for a healthy life?

  1. ‘Move your frame daily and drink more water’.
  2. ‘Mix up your exercise and enjoy what you do’
  3. ‘Get some greens into your breakfast to start off on the right foot’.
  4. ‘Do whatever makes you happy’.
  5. ‘Try to get a proper sweat on at least three times a week’.
  6. ‘Stay away from processed food and get more sleep’.

Strong, happy, healthy body. No sweat. www.moveyourframe.com, www.whistles.com
