10 Ways to Raise Money for Charity

5th October 2017

ELEMIS has a long-standing relationship with Breast Cancer Care, dating back to 2002.

Each year we unveil a new pink product or collection to show our support and raise funds for this remarkable charity. While pretty, the bright-pink packaging also serves as a daily reminder, a mental Post-It note, to carry out a regular self-check – the earlier a lump is detected, the easier it is to treat.

The following figures demonstrate just why we hold this charity so close to our hearts…

  • 58,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK.
  • Breast cancer is an illness that affects one in eight people.
  • Fortunately, 85% of those affected are expected to survive beyond five years and Breast Cancer Care plays a crucial role in offering education, advice and support for people, predominantly women, who are diagnosed with the disease.

This year, we’re proud to launch the Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 100ml in a beautiful pink glass jar. Marking the 25th anniversary of the partnership, ELEMIS will be donating £25,000 from the sales of this special product to help Breast Cancer Care continue their excellent work supporting women living with and beyond breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide charity providing specialist support and tailored information for anyone affected by breast cancer. Their clinical expertise and emotional support network help many thousands of people find a way to live with, through and beyond breast cancer. This year, they are encouraging everyone to get involved and hold their own Big Pink day, helping to raise funds for this very worthy cause.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite fundraising ideas to try at your Big Pink event.

1.Hold a raffle.

Gather your friends, take donations for tickets, and win various prizes. Get local businesses on board to amp up the excitement.

2.Arrange an all-pink office day.

You could wear pink clothing, a pop of lipstick, or even a favourite pair of heels.

3.Get fit for a charity run.

Whether you’re a power-walker or a marathon champion, there are endless events throughout the year to get involved in.

4.Host a bake sale.

Showcase your signature cake at work, or host an afternoon tea party at home. A great excuse for a catch-up with friends, too.

5.Run a sweepstake.

Is there an event, competition or even a TV show that has your office talking? Predict the outcome, and win a prize!

6.A dinner party with a difference.

Shake up your Friday-night plans and invite friends over for a dinner party. Contribute the equivalent of a restaurant bill, and have a great night in.

7.Host a jumble sale.

Does your garage or attic need a clear out? There’s no better time to tick it off your to-do list - participate in a jumble sale to raise money and free up your storage space.

8.Paint the town pink.

Grab some friends and take over your local pub for a charity pub quiz.

9.Give it up.

What’s your vice - chocolate? Smoking? Try giving it up - for a month, or for good! - with supportive sponsors behind you.

10.Treat yourself.

To a Limited Edition Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, of course!
