How to ‘cocktail’ your skincare products

To me, skincare should be something you enjoy doing and not a chore. When you bring an element of fun into your life, everything becomes more enjoyable and this should be the case when applying your products at home.

Like the ingredients in a great mixed drink, the products used on their own stand well on their own, but pack a far more potent punch when combined.

The secret is applying them in the right order and knowing which combination of ingredients work well with each other.

Have you tried product ‘cocktailing’? It's something I love to do and often my clients are some of the first to experience my latest recipes.

Here are some of my favourites and I'm sure you will have the products at home, to be able to try them out.

Papaya Enzyme Peel and Skin Buff: Take equal amounts of each product in your hand and smooth over the face and neck. Gently massage them over dry skin in circular movements, then leave the product on for a further ten minutes, before rinsing off. This way, your skin will have both a mechanical and enzymatic exfoliation.

SOS Emergency Cream and Pro-Collagen Marine Cream: For a skin that is still hormonal or gets the odd breakout, I like to add one or two pumps of SOS Emergency Cream into my Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (day or night), or added to your favourite moisturiser.

Superfood Facial Oil and Exotic Cream Moisture Mask: Two drops of Superfood Facial Oil can be added to Exotic Cream Moisture Mask to turbo-charge the skin. Not only does this already power-packed mask become a three course meal for the skin, but it is amazing at reducing and calming skin redness too.

Pro-Radiance Illuminating Balm, Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsule and Superfood Facial Oil: For a skin energising morning pick-me-up, mix Pro-Radiance Illuminating Balm (about the size of a 5p), one Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsule, one drop of Superfood Facial Oil and apply onto fresh cleansed and toned skin, while the skin is still slightly damp. The skin becomes alive right beneath your fingertips.
